North Oakland Headwaters Land Conservancy (NOHLC)

North Oakland Headwaters Land Conservancy (NOHLC) has been your local land conservancy since 1972. We are dedicated to conserving the health of the land surrounding the headwaters of the Clinton, Shiawassee, Huron, and Flint Rivers. We currently steward over 1,500 acres across six townships in northwest Oakland County, including several properties in the Clarkston area.  As an accredited land conservancy, we are committed to protecting the future of our local natural resources, unique landscapes, and the quality of life of our communities found here in the four river headwaters regions.

October is an exciting month for us! On Friday, October 4th, we are holding our annual fundraiser, Wild Night Out, at the Lafayette Grande in Pontiac. This year’s theme is “Songbird Soirée” and will feature dinner, cash bar, live and silent auctions, musical entertainment, a Wine Pull and the Great Dine Out raffle. It is our biggest fundraiser of the year that helps fund operations.

As a volunteer-based non-profit, we are very proud of our accomplishments in our 47 years of working with local residents to spread environmental awareness and conserve these special places. Our work together has made huge strides in conservation, and we are excited for what the future holds! We love Clarkston because of the support we receive from the local businesses and the residents in keeping this a great place to live, work, and play!
