Open your mind to all possibilities during this New Year.  The past few years have forced us to . . . (MORE)

WHAT IS A HEALTHY BODY FAT PERCENTAGE?

Body composition refers to the amount of fat you have, relative to lean tissue (muscles, bones, water, organs).  This measurement is a clearer indicator of your fitness because regardless of what you weigh, the higher percentage of body fat you have, the more likely you are to develop heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, and type 2 diabetes.

Call Anytime Fitness-Clarkston (9685 Dixie Hwy) to schedule your FREE body fat testing on January 15, 2012…such a deal! 248-625-3002

January 24 CHAMBER WIB Motivational and Networking event  10:45-1 pm at Fountains  (see above)

On behalf of the Career Services Department at Oakland University, I would like to cordially invite you to attend our annual Winter Career Fair.  The Winter Career Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, January 25, 2012 from 10:00am-1:00 pm for all Business, Liberal Arts, Science, IT and Engineering employers.  Lunch will be served at 1p at the conclusion of the fair.  The optional interviews that employers can participate in will begin at 2pm.

Due to competitive market demands, we would like to assist employers with their hiring needs by providing the opportunity to interview candidates on site immediately after the Career Fair.  You do not have to reserve a space to do this.  All employers will receive an interview signup sheet at the fair and will use their same assigned tables to conduct interviews.   You can decide that day during the fair if you want to interview candidates and the number of interviews you conduct is up to you.  If you choose to interview candidates, you decide on the time frame and assign the students a time to come back to meet with you.  Many employers choose to do 15 or 30 minute interviews and use this opportunity as a preliminary meeting.  These interviews after the fair are optional and free.

Last year, we had about 300 students and alumni in attendance, and we expect a stronger turnout this year.  Your participation in this year’s Winter Career Fair will greatly enhance our students’ career paths.

Oakland University is consistently recognized by U.S News and World Report in its annual report about "America’s Best Colleges."  Seize this opportunity to meet with Oakland University students and alumni from varying backgrounds who represent outstanding quality and success!  You will be meeting students who are excellent candidates for full-time permanent employment, as well as candidates for internships, cooperative education positions, and part-time employment.

Please find the registration information in the link below on our web site at: http://www.oakland.edu/?id=12485&sid=68.  For any questions you may have concerning this event, please call us at (248) 370-3250.

Thank you for your continued interest in our students and we look forward to seeing you at the 2012 Winter Career Fair.

Sincerely,

Wayne Thibodeau
