| Oakland County Workforce Development This county division helps to train and place unemployed workers by coordinating
Michigan Works! programs locally. |

| Michigan Talent Bank A free Internet-based database that contains more than 600,000 resumes.
Employers can search existing resumes and post job openings. Assistance is
available to employers in using the system upon request. |
Michigan Works Service Centers If you are an employer looking for workers, or to upgrade the skills of an
existing work force, Oakland County has nine electronically
linked centers to serve you.
This countywide Work Force
Development System provides convenient one-stop access to all
of the worker recruitment services and job training incentives available in
Michigan. Worker recruitment specialists are available for on-site or telephone
consultation. Various services are provided at the Centers. |
| Economic Development Job Training Grants This program provides training funds for businesses that promote new job
opportunities, advanced training for existing employees, and skilled training
for new workers. |
Incumbent Worker Program (IWP) This program provides job training grants for upgrading the skills of a companys
existing work force. It provides job specific retraining or upgrading of skills
related to the use of new technology. All training providers must be licensed by
the State of Michigan and priority in the selection process will be given to
Oakland Community College. |
