TRACKING TESTIMONIALS
“My company has generated $3,500 worth of moving and storage from chamber leads in the past year, but even more importantly my position on the Chamber Board has taught me a system of evaluating our movers; that has not only assisted in employee retention, lower claims, and actually goal setting amongst the movers”
Johnna Struck, Changing Places Moving
“In 2009, the Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce was the best chamber source of business for my company resulting in 11% of new business. That is a return on my membership dues of over 1000%.”
Steve Hyer, IGD Solutions
“I have gained an enormous amount of knowledge concerning our local businesses and what they provide to our area…by attending workshops and networking events. This allows me to not only utilize their services (which I have done on a regular basis – benefiting the SHOP LOCAL campaign), but to offer our services and know how to sell our service based on the benefits these local businesses may need. It’s not always about the numbers; it’s about the “future” numbers and building relationships that are priceless.”
Donna Bullard, Clarkston Brandon Community Credit Union

Maxx Storage is an official drop off site for “Cell Phones for Soldiers."
These phones are sent to ReCellular, which pays Cell Phones for Soldiers enough to provide an hour of talk time per phone to soldiers abroad. Cell Phones for Soldiers was founded by teens Robbie and Brittany Bergquist from Norwell, Mass. With $21 of their own money. Since then, the registered 501c3 non-profit organization has raised millions of dollars in donations and distributed more than 500,00 prepaid calling cards to soldiers serving overseas. From 2008 through 2013 the Bergquist family hopes to raise more than $9 million to fund new programs, such as providing video phones with prepaid service to allow soldiers abroad to see their families on a regular basis.
We all have old phones (and accessories) in drawers at home! A lot of businesses provide phones to employees and periodically upgrade them. This is a great way to get rid of them and provide a meaningful service.

RANDOLPH'S SALON NAMED TO THE SALON TODAY 200 BY SALON TODAY MAGAZINE
LINCOLNSHIRE, IL (February 2010) – White Lake/Clarkston’s Randolph's Salon, owned by Scott and Mary Randolph, recently was named to the SALON TODAY 200 by SALON TODAY magazine, a top business publication for salon and spa owners.
In it’s January/February issue 200 salons were selected for their best business practices from applications submitted by SALON TODAY readers, who represent the 25,000 top-producing salons and spas in the country.
The magazine honored 200 applicants in 11 different best practice categories. Like Randolph’s Salon, some of these salons were honored in more than one category. They included Compensation and Benefits (23), Recruitment Training (25), Customer Service (22), Retention and Reward Programs (19), Advanced Education (27), Marketing (32), Technology (22), Environmental Sustainability (22), Retail Programs (24), Inventory Control (30) and Sales Growth (100). Randolph's Salon was honored in the following: Advanced Education & Marketing.
“Strong business leadership requires the mastery of a number of different best business practices,” said Stacey Soble, editor-in-chief of SALON TODAY. “The salons named to the SALON TODAY 200 for 2010 not only proved they excel in one or more of these areas, they also have created rewarding environments for their staff members and standout experiences for their clients.”
