About the Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce

The Clarkston Area Chamber ofCommerce is a membership organization made up of small businesses, community leaders, service clubs and community groups who work together to promote and enhance economic growth and quality of community in the Clarkston Area.

Membership begins at an annual dues investment level of $190. The majority of our members are small businesses, family owned businesses and entrepreneurs.

The value of membership includes access to Chamber exclusive advertising and communication tools including: Free listing on the Chamber website with email and website links; Free listing in the annual Chamber Directory; Monthly mailings that include the Chamber Connection newsletter and member to member offers; FREE database of Chamber membership for your own direct marketing or email newsletter lists.

The Clarkston Area Chamber also provides an average of three networking events each month. These are offered at different times of day, different days of the week and different weeks of the month to increase your ability to access an event that fits YOUR schedule.

The Clarkston Area Chamber also utilizes Chamber Ambassadors, Chamber staff and “Facilitated Networking” which helps newcomers and veterans alike meet everyone at the event. We make it easier for you to talk business, find out about each other and give referrals, all in a friendly and fun manner. Games, questions, mix it up seating and rotating groups all add to a great way to meet future business contacts and make friends.

The Clarkston Area Chamber currently has 638 members. This represents an 85% retention rate in 2005 and a 7.7% overall growth from 2004.

The Chamber President is elected by the Board of Directors and serves a one year term. The President’s main role is as Chairman of the Board. The President and 18 Board of Directors serve as volunteers.

The Chamber has 4 employees, providing full and part time administrative support for Chamber events, programs and projects. The Chamber Executive Director is a full time employee and serves as the CEO of the Chamber.
